The year was 1977, and I was 15 years old, skateboarding the 1/2 pipe at Skateboard World in Torrance, CA.
"I wore Radio Shack headphones that I taped to my helmet so I wouldn't be distracted by what other people were saying about me when I skated. They tuned in to radio stations, so when a song I liked came on, I dropped in fast, even if it wasn't technically my turn. Music was important to me when I skated". Cindy Whitehead
